“This salon could easily lay claim to the ‘Wimbledon blowdry’ – it’s why the great and good of this leafy South West London village are regulars, as are the Federer clan during the tennis fortnight. Led by Andy Sadiq (he’s been doing hair for 15 years), appointments with him are like gold dust but luckily the rest of his team are just as brilliant at transforming your flat hair into a proper showpiece. Bouncy, sexy, flicky blowdries are a dream here, as are the waterfall-like waves and braids they can somehow magically conjure up in no time at all. We love the quiet, secret space downstairs too, where their estheticians facial’s have waiting lists.”

“Tis the season for (lots of) bouncy blow-dries and glamorous up-dos… and time to block-book hair guru Andy Sadiq. Wimbledon Village’s status as one of the most chic residential pockets in London is evidenced by the number of regular clients who travel from Chelsea to visit the creative Andy. It’s obvious why he’s a speed-dial favourite: a visit to Andy’s Salon is always a treat—from the welcoming glass of Champagne, the comfiest reclining basin chairs, savvy advice on take-home products and, of course, the utterly transformative hair styling. Chic cuts, flicky blow-dries, intricate braiding, power ponies and starry up-dos; Andy and his team offer expertise with familial warmth. You will leave swishing your hair like the tennis wives and girlfriends who rely on Andy during the tennis championships, taking note to book time with their super-facialist, who works her magic in a quiet haven downstairs.”

“Magic For Pampering: Andy’s Salon When other local hairdressers can’t fix something themselves, they send them to Andy’s in Wimbledon Village because, when it comes to hair gods, Andy’s right up there with the best. Whether it’s a blow dry or braid, balayage or some general hair TLC, this undeniably upmarket salon is your go-to place. Oh, and there’s a hidden little spa downstairs where their facials do magical things. During the tennis championships you’ll probably spot Federer having a little bit of pre-match grooming.”

“First things first, don’t EVER say no to an optional head massage – especially at Andy’s. It will have you nodding off in the chair. This salon, located in South London’s leafy Wimbledon Village, is teeming with stars like the Federers during the tennis fortnight. They are brilliant at ‘normal’ hair – nothing weird, or wacky, and you won’t walk out looking like a My Little Pony extra. Blowdries – done with big round brushes and a lot of arm work – leave hair looking thick, full and soooo shiny: like your own hair, but on a really good day. For a cut, founder Andy Sadiq is your man. He’ll snip where you need it, layer if you want it and never get carried away.”

“Blocked pores, breakouts and dry skin stand no chance with their superstar facialist at Andy’s Salon. This treatment is less about nodding off to sleep (although she does an excellent face, neck and shoulder massage while your skin is sipping up the products), and all about brightening and declogging using hi-tech wizardry. There will be peels, a HydraFacial machine she’ll whirl all over your face (it feels a little like the teeth-cleaning gadget at the dentist) to extract, exfoliate and make you quite literally glow. And then there’s some LED-light therapy to kill off any last traces of bacteria. No more bad skin – you’ll leave with a new, radiant and strokeably soft face. Hands off, though”

“Wimbledon isn’t exactly short of hair and beauty salons but Andy’s, which opened in 2016, has already built up a loyal following (and a starry one when the tennis is on – the Federers are regulars), earning a stellar rep for natural-looking colour, perfect blow-dries and insanely good facials in the hidden treatment room downstairs. There’s also a visiting Harley Street cosmetic doctor once a month, if you’re looking for a tweakment.”

“Those with long hair, look to the Duchess of Cambridge, Kim Murray and Mirka Federer for the true Wimbledon staple: a big, bouncy blow dry. Andy’s Salon, a discreet, local hairdresser, is where the Federer family heads each year for primping ahead of long days at the court.”
